Nissan signs Mondial for roadside assist

Nissan Australia has signed up with major specialist assistance and travel insurance provider Mondial Australia to operate its roadside assistance programme.

The deal will bring a fleet of dual-branded roadside assist vehicles, as well as a new MyNissan iPhone app (pictured) that will simplify contacting roadside assist. The app will also provide features including an electronic logbook, parking meter reminder and scheduled service reminder. Included is a trip planner that shows the location of service stations, car parks and Nissan service centres. According to Brett Wiskar, Director of Speedwell eBusiness Solutions, the development studio behind the app, MyNissan is “Australia's first all-in-one iPhone application for motorists.”

Mondial Assistance Australia will provide Nissan with “wholesale roadside assistance on new cars and comprehensive branded retail roadside assistance once the three year new car roadside assistance program ends.”

The Nissan signing follows alliance partner Renault which has for some time been using Mondial as its roadside assist provider. Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes- Benz, Peugeot, Porsche and Volkswagen are also on Mondial Australia's books.
