motoring.com.au: carsales’ new destination for all things auto

carsales has a new editorial brand… And there’s an App for it…
Car games sales has a new destination for all things automotive – motoring.com.au. The new editorial brand and website were launched this month.

Building on carsales’ existing editorial strengths and infrastructure, motoring.com.au will not only supply news, review and other editorial content to all automotive sites within the carsales network, but it will also have its own online destination and.. Wait for it… A dedicated iPad App.

The motoring.com.au website is up and running now and includes exclusive features including photo galleries and unique editorial content. It also allows users to search for news, reviews, videos and other content via ‘lifestyle’ categories including: family cars, first cars, green and performance.

Themotoring.com.au iPad Appdelivers high-resolution, high-quality graphics and multimedia content including video in both on and offline modes. Published twice a month it is available to download free via Apple’s iTunes App store. Android versions of the app are on the drawing board too…

carsales’ network of automotive websites is Australia’s largest and has featured editorial content almost since its inception. carsales’ editorial content alone accounts for a significant proportion of the millions of unique visitors the network attracts every month. motoring.com.au will champion carsales’ existing editorial content and expand upon it.

As well as more news and a new video platform with expanded content, you can also expect an emphasis on feature content from motoring, as well as vehicle comparison tests, interviews and, of course, a few surprises.

carsales.com Ltd Editor-in-Chief, Mike Sinclair will head an expanded motoring.com.au editorial team.

“The establishment of motoring.com.au gives a strong identity to our editorial offer right across carsales’ network of sites. It will also allow us to add more ‘flavour’ to the mix of content we offer – especially at the motoring.com.au website,” Sinclair said.

“Another great example is the iPad App. This features a mix of unique features and content from the websites, but it’s all presented in a very fresh, very glossy format… The feedback we’ve received already is fabulous… It’s free to download so if you’re at all interested in cars and have an iPad it’s a must-have,” he said.

The launch of the first edition of the App coincided with opening day of the 2011 Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne. Logically, the second edition features – you guessed it – galleries and all the ‘star’ cars from the show.

“Our aim is to make sure there’s a few surprises in each issue of the App. That doesn’t mean we’re going to shortchange visitors to motoring.com.au website, but the iPad format allows us to ‘hide’ a few surprise and delight items,” Sinclair hinted…

Motoring.com.au the website is live now.  Visit the Apple iTunes App Store to download the motoring.com.au App free of charge.
